Dr. Devi Banerjee

Dr. Devi Banerjee

Born and raised in Montreal, Dr. Banerjee received her BSc. in Microbiology and Immunology from McGill University (1995), then continued her studies at McGill, completing her medical degree (M.D.) in 1999. A residency in Internal Medicine at the Jewish General Hospital (1999 - 2002) was followed by a fellowship in Clinical Immunology and Allergy Medicine at the McGill University Health Center (2002 - 2004). She then carried out a postdoctoral research fellowship at Rockefeller University in New York City. It was here Dr. Banerjee studied the body’s immune response to cancer, paying particular attention to dendritic cell and T-regulatory cell operation. Dr. Banerjee began her clinical practice at the Montreal General Hospital in September 2006 and cares for patients who suffer from allergies, asthma, and autoimmune diseases. She enjoys reading, travelling and architecture.

Dr. Normand Dubé

Dr. Normand Dubé

Dr. Dubé is an allergy and immunology specialist, and was the President of Immunology & Allergy Medicine for the Medical Doctor's Association of Quebec from 2000 to 2011. He is an instructor for the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Montreal.

Dr. Marie-Josée Francoeur

Dr. Marie-Josée Francoeur

Dr. Marie-Josée Francœur obtained a medical degree at the Université de Montréal and received her training in pediatrics at the Université de Sherbrooke. She then completed a medical sub-speciality in pediatric allergies and immunology at McGill University, more specifically at the Montreal Children’s Hospital. Following this, she worked in Belgium in clinical research for three and a half years.

Currently, Dr. Francœur is a professor of clinical medicine in pediatric allergies in the department of pediatrics at the Université de Sherbrooke. She is working at the Charles LeMoyne Hospital in Greenfield Park and in private practice.

Dr. Francœur is chiefly involved in continuing medical education and the communication of allergy information to her colleagues and the public.

Dr. Rémi Gagnon

Dr. Rémi Gagnon

Dr. Rémi Gagnon is the Chief Medical practitioner in Allergy and Immunology Medicine at the CHUL in Quebec City. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Laval University, and later obtained his Allergy/Immunology Specialist accreditation from McGill University. Working with both adults and children, his treatment is concerned with all spheres of allergies and primary immunodeficiencies. He is involved in a mentoring program for interns and provides continuing medical education among his colleagues. After spending several years as the Director of Continuing Medical Education, Dr Gagnon was recently appointed President of the Association of Allergists and Immunologists of Québec.

Dr. Antony J. Ham Pong

Dr. Antony J. Ham Pong

Dr. Antony Ham Pong has his own private practice and is a consultant for Allergy, Asthma & Immunology medicine at the Chest Clinic at the Children’s Hospital in Ottawa. He lectures on pediatric medicine and is the Co-Chair for the Faculty of Allergy/Immunology at the University of Ottawa School of Medicine. Dr. Ham Pong is an examiner for the Medical Council of Canada. He has written about and lectured extensively on allergies, asthma and food-related allergies. Dr Ham Pong is a former member of the Board of Directors for the Canadian Society for Allergy and Clinical Immunology, and former chief of the Allergy Clinic at the Children’s Hospital in Ottawa. He studied Allergy/Immunology medicine at the University of Texas, Galveston. He has advised Health Canada on Food Labelling, Food Safety and the regulation of genetically modified foods. Dr. Ham Pong was the major Canadian consultant for the Reader’s Digest book “The Allergy Bible”, and is a medical adviser for the Canadian School Board’s Handbook on Anaphylaxis.

Active member of the allergy division of the Department of Pediatrics at Hôpital Sainte-Justine, Montréal, Québec, from 1962 to 2000. President for many years of the Association of Allergists and Immunologists of Québec (AAIQ). Started the AAIQ Web site (www.allerg.qc.ca) in 1996 and was its webmaster until 2009.
