Effects of Allergies and their Related Symptoms
Suffering from allergic reactions is not much fun. In addition to being tormented by plant pollen in the great outdoors, or prevented from enjoying the company of a cat or dog at home, here are some specific symptoms that you may have the displeasure of experiencing firsthand:

Skin Itch and Hives
Hives can sometimes appear as red, intensely itchy welts on your skin that can make you climb the walls: you know them as hives but your doctor calls them urticaria.
Hives have been traced to such diverse triggers as infections, medications, certain foods and some agents such as latex, cold, sun exposure, insect stings, exercise, environmental allergens (e.g., pollens, dogs, cats, dust mites), endocrine (hormonal) changes and emotional stress.
In people prone to developing hives, these triggers cause the body's cells to release chemical substances, including histamine. AERIUS® acts as a histamine blocker, helping relieve allergy symptoms.
If hive symptoms worsen or persist, please consult your doctor
Asthma
Approximately 75% of asthma sufferers also suffer from seasonal allergic rhinitis.
Asthma symptoms include chest tightness, shortness of breath, wheezing and cough – due to the narrowing of the airways in the lungs. Although asthma may or may not be caused by allergens, most medical experts acknowledge a link between the two. In fact, having seasonal allergic rhinitis appears to increase one’s risk of developing asthma.
